YOUTH DJ WORKSHOP
FEBRUARY - JUNE 2026
Bi-Weekly Starting February 18th
Wednesdays 6-7pm @ The WAY / CWLP
Hosted by Triple Seven
This Youth DJ Workshop is a structured, hands-on educational program designed to introduce young people to the fundamentals of DJing, music curation, and live event performance. The program runs from February through June at the community center and concludes with a youth-led community showcase event.
The workshop is designed for beginners and requires no prior experience. Participants will attend bi-weekly, in-person sessions, where they receive direct instruction and hands-on training. On alternating weeks, youth are expected to independently practice and apply what they have learned, reinforcing skills through repetition and real-world use.
❋ Throughout the program, participants will learn:
Music and track selection for different audiences and environments
Beatmatching, mixing, and transitions
DJ equipment and software fundamentals
Performance confidence and crowd awareness
Professional conduct and responsibility when DJing live events
NO EXPERIENCE OR EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED!
In addition to technical skills, the program emphasizes discipline, preparation, teamwork, and creative expression. Youth will also be introduced to basic event concepts such as set timing, collaboration, and equipment care.
The program culminates in June with a live community event, fully supported by Triple Seven, where participants will DJ for a public audience. This showcase provides youth with a meaningful goal, real-world experience, and a sense of ownership and accomplishment.
All equipment will be provided, and the workshop will be facilitated in a safe, supportive, and supervised environment. The program aligns with youth development goals by offering practical skills, confidence-building opportunities, and positive community engagement through music and the arts.
